What is Missouri Hub?
Missouri Hub is a partnership between Missouri libraries and museums to share our digital content. We serve as the Missouri service hub for the Digital Public Library of America (DPLA). Learn more about Missouri Hub & browse our collections.
Notes from May’s Open Call
Notes from May’s open call are available via Google Docs.
DPLA Membership Update
The Digital Public Library of America has developed a new membership model for its Hub network, of which Missouri Hub is a part. You can learn more about the membership program through the DPLA web site.
The MOHub steering committee is evaluating our ability to join the national membership network given our budgetary constraints. We will be speaking with DPLA staff soon about our options, given the aggressive deployment date of September 1, 2017. We will be passing along our options to the full MOHub group and soliciting feedback about how to proceed. This topic will be discussed at our next open call on Thursday, September 14 (more below).

Fishing in the deep waters of DPLA
Curious about DPLA, the Digital Public Library of America, but don’t know where to start? DPLA is a portal to over 16 million digitized primary sources from libraries across the country. Learn how to navigate within that sometimes overwhelming portal. Find the enhancements on DPLA’s site that provide context for documents to help students engage with them more fully.
So many libraries have digitized amazing primary source documents and images, but it’s hard to know all the good websites to visit. DPLA is a front end for searching across numerous collections, with an opportunity to dive deeper when you find something of interest. This presentation will also assess DPLA’s curated “exhibits” and “primary source sets,” analyze their strengths and weaknesses, and give examples of how they can be used with student learners. Presenters: Emily Jaycox, Librarian at the Missouri History Museum, is a founding member of DPLA’s Missouri Hub. Tom Bober is a Community Rep for DPLA, a former Teacher in Residence at the Library of Congress, and a school librarian.
Poster: Everything You and Your Patrons Need to Know about the DPLA’s Missouri Hub

This poster describes what librarians need to know for themselves and for their patrons. Presented by Chris Freeland, Washington University in St. Louis, and Heather Moulaison-Sandy, The iSchool at the University of Missouri.
