Fair Use Workshop May 27, 2026

We received news of an upcoming workshop on Fair Use! The PA Digital rights team will host a Fair Use Workshop on Wednesday, May 27th at 11 AM to 12 PM EST.

Have you ever wondered about fair use? When does copyright law allow use of copyrighted material without permission? In this introductory workshop, you will learn about U.S. copyright law’s fair use doctrine and how to apply it to different situations. Danielle Steinhart from the Penn State University Libraries’ Office of Scholarly Communications and Copyright will teach this workshop.

Danielle Steinhart is the Interim Head of the Office of Scholarly Communications and Copyright at Penn State University Libraries where she assists faculty, staff, and students, with copyright and scholarly communications matters and serves as a resource on these topics for the Libraries departments and projects. Danielle practiced law early in her career before transitioning to academia and has been with Penn State Libraries for the past three years.

Please register in advance on Zoom

There will be a Q&A after the presentation.  Please feel free to submit any fair use/copyright questions you may have via the PA Digital Rights Copyright Hour form.
